Fermentation technology

One of the main advantages of the fermentation method is that it results in a higher yield of theanine compared to other methods. This is because the fermentation process increases the bioavailability of the precursors needed to produce theanine, resulting in a more efficient conversion.

Traditional synthetic methods for producing theanine are limited by production processes, resulting in a monthly production capacity of about 10 tons. However, using fermentation instead of synthetic methods can significantly increase production, by approximately 7-8 times that of traditional methods. Due to economies of scale, production costs are substantially reduced.

Fermentation also offers more control over the production process, allowing for greater consistency and purity of the final product. This is particularly important in the production of theanine for use in supplements or functional foods, where quality and consistency are critical.

As the entire production process does not use organic solvents, the finished product is truly solvent-free.
